Dream a Little Dream of Me.

Damn It To Hell

You know what I hate?  When I’m all annoyed and pissed off, aggravated, angry, and jealous…

And I’m perfectly happy being that way, minding my own business, and I have a great idea that suddenly makes me happy and forget all that…

I hate that.

I wasn’t done being pissed off yet.

  1. Beth says:

    You are very silly.

    P’raps you need sex?

*looks innocent* (quite easy to do, you know, with red braids, and gold-rimmed specs)

  2. JanieBelle says:

Well of course I need sex, but that’s not the issue right now.

…and fortunately, I’m back to pissed off and I’m much happier again.

  3. Beth says:

    *tries to look severe*

    Sex is always the issue.

So, what’s gotcha all lathered up?

  4. JanieBelle says:

Ok, yes. Sex is always the issue, but this is a different issue.

Actually, it’s two issues, only one of which is my book.

The other I can’t talk about.

Actually, it’s three issues, and I can’t talk about the third one, either.

…and that pisses me off more, which should be making me even happier, but it’s not.

    or something.

  5. JanieBelle says:

It’s hard for me to picture you looking very severe in red braids and gold rimmed specs, by the way.

  6. Beth says:

*laughs* Trying usually gets my nose tweaked.

Too much pissed off-ness isn’t a good thing. And not being able to talk about it just isn’t … helpful. I mean, for you, hon. Try to be oblique — like me. I write things people can’t understand.

  7. JanieBelle says:

It is difficult for me to be oblique when the little formatting hand in OpenOffice Writer is flipping me off.

    The hand. It mocks me.

  8. Beth says:

I’m very sorry to hear that. *solemn*

I’d invite you to dinner, if it wouldn’t be stone cold by the time you got here.

Speaking of … the summons wafts forth, complete with a discipline loving guest. Heh.

    Don’t forget to write {{hugs}}

  9. Rystefn says:

Wish I could help you out…

  10. Stephanie Z says:

Oh, dear. Let me know if I can growl at anyone for you, even if it’s completely unrelated to your three things.

Beth, try looking over the top of the glasses. Always works for me. Oh, but don’t do it to anyone coming down the stairs. Don’t want any more accidents.

  11. JanieBelle says:

Thanks, y’all, but I gotta work this one out.

Just hang out and listen to me bitch.

  12. Stephanie Z says:

I won’t even ask you to keep it entertaining, sacrifice though that is.

  13. JanieBelle says:

I’ve run out of cuss words and moved on to combinations of cuss words.

Is “PissBitch” a real cuss word, or just kinky porn?

  14. Stephanie Z says:

    Do you have to choose?

  15. JanieBelle says:

    No, I suppose not! 🙂

  16. JanieBelle says:

The hand is still mocking me. I need a plug-in that will let me break his frackin’ finger.

  17. Stephanie Z says:

Greg might know of one, or one to replace the hand with something less mocking.

  18. JanieBelle says:

Oh no, I don’t want to replace it, I want to cause it pain.

    much pain.

  19. Stephanie Z says:

You? Really? Say it isn’t so.

  20. JanieBelle says:

Well, not really. I only inflict pain on consenting adults, and the hand can’t exactly consent since he doesn’t have a brain.

    But still.

  21. Rystefn says:

I have one. Where do I sign up? 😉

  22. JanieBelle says:

    I think you just did.

  23. JanieBelle says:

I’m not going to wind up on trial in the next thread, am I?

  24. Stephanie Z says:

With consent clear from the start, not likely.

  25. JanieBelle says:

I’m thinking there should be a signed written release here or something, just in case y’all turn on me!

  26. Rystefn says:

Pffft… You know you’re looking forward to having a mob come after you. a fun, sexy mob, but that’s neither here nor there.

  27. Stephanie Z says:

Janie, you have my consent to do whatever Rystefn is willing to have you do to him. 🙂

  28. Stephanie Z says:

My consent to do it to him, just in case there was any doubt.

  29. Rystefn says:

    Sounds like fun. I’m game.

  30. JanieBelle says:

Rystefn, you’re logged into your secret porn account again, but yes, you know me too well.

Steph, I’m glad you cleared that up, though a bit disappointed as well.

  31. JanieBelle says:

So my characters are being asses, and won’t let me write them well. What’s really pissing me off (at the moment) is that one of them is me, and she is the being the biggest ass of all.

  32. Stephanie Z says:

Obviously it’s time to have something bad happen to your characters. It moves the plot along and helps you feel better at the same time.

  33. JanieBelle says:

I agree. I should kick my own ass.

  34. JanieBelle says:

…and then I should masturbate because I turned myself on.

  35. JanieBelle says:

That’ll teach me to be an ass!

  36. Stephanie Z says:

The problem with reading on a laptop is that when you start laughing, the keyboard doesn’t want to stay in one place. Wiping tears away now.

  37. JanieBelle says:

I wonder what would happen if I gave you an orgasm, then…

    *off to write something smutty*

    (for scientific investigation of course)

  38. JanieBelle says:

    Steph, before I go, a quick question…

Does your laptop have the Binford 2000 vibrator attachment with deluxe plug and play?

  39. Rystefn says:

There. This should work better. Let us see…

  40. JanieBelle says:

oh, and do you have all the latest drivers for it?

  41. Rystefn says:

    Behold! The working! She functions!

  42. JanieBelle says:

    Much better, Rystefn

  43. Stephanie Z says:

My laptop is an iBook, dear girl, paler than vanilla. But you need to write something smutty anyway, don’t you, before the contest deadline?

  44. JanieBelle says:

Uh-oh. Either I done run Steph off, or she’s waiting for me to finish the smut…

  45. JanieBelle says:

    Oh, there you are!

  46. JanieBelle says:

Yeah, maybe it would help to take yet another break from the novel, actually.

  47. Stephanie Z says:

Maybe it will be less frustrating. 🙂

  48. JanieBelle says:

    …and more satisfying?

  49. Rystefn says:

Now everyone can track me back to my latest personal low-point. Maybe I should post something sexy so there will be a high note over there.

  50. JanieBelle says:

I think you should be cracking on that.

  51. JanieBelle says:

There, I’d been trying to think of something soothing to say since you posted that, but it just wasn’t right.

You’re … well, I said it over there.

  52. Greg Laden says:

It is not flipping you off .. It is just trying to be friendly.

  53. JanieBelle says:

    The one finger salute?

  54. Rystefn says:

Well, I’m hammering my way thought the requested story, but it’s slow going for some reason.

    I suppose I could post something I wrote before…

  55. JanieBelle says:

I understand the slow going, Rystefn. Sometimes the damned things just don’t do what you tell them.

I’ve been working on my novel for a year and a half, and I’m about 1/3 of the way done.

  56. JanieBelle says:

Greg, your name is still linking to your old blog.

  57. Rystefn says:

I have a long-form work I’ve been doing, but I doubt I’ll be able to finish it now. I gave up trying to direct that tale very early on, and resigned myself to watching things develop.

  58. JanieBelle says:

That’s how I kind of do things most of the time, but this novel sort of had a goal from the beginning, so maybe that’s what’s holding up the works for me.

On another note, I’m beat and The Boy has those exams he’s going to try and get in to take in the morning, so I’m going to call it a night.

Thank you all for listening to me bitch and moan, and for holding my hand and keeping me company.

  59. JanieBelle says:

(While writing The Lilith Obsession, for instance, I didn’t have any idea of the ending until I was writing Part the Second.)

  60. Rystefn says:

Yeah, I thought I had it all worked out, then it turned out that someone I thought was a minor character had engineered pretty much everything that had happened… I’m wondering how long it will take for people to catch on to the full meaning of that. So far, no one who read it has noticed that she had two people killed in her manipulations.

  61. Mike says:

JanieBelle, this is nuts. I don’t know why, but reading it compels me not to masturbate, but to add you to my blogroll at long last.

    Will you be mine?

  62. JanieBelle says:

It’s so amazing to watch a story unfold before you as you write it, isn’t it? Sometimes, I blow my own mind doing it that way.

Of course I will. You’ve been mine for some time now, though. You just didn’t know it.

Some people call that manipulative of me, gaining possession of them with their consent but not their knowledge.

    I call it clever.

  63. JanieBelle says:

P.S. Hang around Mike. I’ll take care of that masturbation thing as well.

  64. Beth says:

Flying through, JB ~ thought I’d leave a {hug}tell The Boy I’m thinking of him.

  65. JanieBelle says:

    Thanks Beth, and will do.

    The college, it hates him.

  66. Stephanie Z says:

We can hates the college, if that helps.

  67. Rystefn says:

It is pretty amazing… though I think part of the reason I stopped writing is that I know what’s about to happen and I don’t want it to…

  68. JanieBelle says:

I was writing a post and talking to y’all when Kaylaface called to say that a boy down the street, a friend of The Boy‘s boy, needed help.

    His house was on fire.

He was the only one home, and he’s Ok, the fire departments are there and are putting it out, but the house is toast.

  69. JanieBelle says:

    oops, wrong thread.

  70. JanieBelle says:

Now see, that’s an interesting reaction to your own story, Rystefn. There are times when I feel an attachment to my characters and to the story where I could envision such a reaction from myself.
