Martyne and I were just yacking about crop circles, as brought up by the recent post by the BadAstronomer.
As it’s Music Monday, I thought you all might enjoy a bit of relaxing electronic music to go along with a montage of some very beautiful crop circles.
Despite the fact that they are quite obviously and provably the work of humans who were born right here on this very planet, some of them can be extremely elaborate works of art. While I’m sure the delicacy and intricacy are utterly lost on the farmer whose field is damaged by the eventide vandals, the craftsmanship and dexterity of the artists cannot be denied.
Without further ado, allow me to direct your attention below the fold, to where you will be able to pull up a chair and take a moment of quiet to reflect on the portraits in the corn.
From whence came the art:
That image is titled Firefox Crop Circle, and was uploaded to Flickr by John Griffiths .
The YouTube video was created by whirlysquirrel.
The music is The Oh of Pleasure, by Ray Lynch, from his CD Deep Breakfast.
The FireFox logo crop circle was created with permission of the oat field owner by a group of Oregon State University students and local FireFox fans.

Loved the music. It reminded me of the French artist. Jean Michel Jarr. Or something like that. He was good. The 3-D cube was the best for me. These guys have imagination. Have to agree with you that any race that can master space travel and come visit us is not going to piss about flattening crops in an attempt to communicate with us.Doh.Even Homer Simpson could work that one out. As it is “Music Monday” I implore everyone to check out Genesis and “Jesus He Knows Me“. I know I bang on about it but it is only because I want everyone to bask in the glory of such a wonderful track.
Martyne, I made a link for you there. It really is good.
It’s the first test of my resolution to try and honor copyrights…
Oh, it is sooooo hard.
Thanks for making the link. I am such a Genesis fan. Have got lots of their albums. “Land of Confusion” has to be my favourite single of their’s after this one. What is yours? Copyright is a very difficult question these days. I know you want to do what is morally right, like myself, but it is difficult to know what that is anymore.
